D.C. super PACs preparing for Stephanie Miner to run for Congress

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Right-leaning political groups in Washington D.C. are taking notice of Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner. At least two super PACs have begun opposition research on Miner, a Democrat, in case she runs for Congress.

America Rising, a conservative group that conducts opposition research, has started collecting records of Miner’s travel and expenses during her time in office.

America Rising has been submitting Freedom of Information Law requests to the city for Miner’s calendar and expenses dating back at least a year. A representative reached out to a reporter earlier this month to share the results.

The group’s press secretary, Scott Sloofman, said Miner is out of touch with the district.

“America Rising can’t wait to show voters in the 24th District the real Stephanie Miner,” Sloofman said in an email. “If she runs for Congress, voters will see that she’s a deeply flawed candidate, completely out of touch with the district.”
