On Morning Joe, Clinton Defends Hiding Speech Transcripts, FBI Investigation

During a sit-down interview that aired this morning on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski put Secretary Clinton on the hot seat on the issue of her paid speech transcripts and the FBI investigation into her private email set up.

“Absolutely,” Clinton said when asked if she can assure the American people that she didn’t say anything behind closed doors that would undermine her campaign promise to be “tough on Wall Street.” But that doesn’t match what’s already been reported on those speeches:

“It was pretty glowing about us,” one person who watched the event said. “It’s so far from what she sounds like as a candidate now. It was like a rah-rah speech. She sounded more like a Goldman Sachs managing director.”

In another segment, Clinton is asked about the FBI investigation into the security of her private email setup and whether it’s wise for her campaign to paint the investigation as a partisan witch-hunt:

Clinton admits, “There is a security inquiry going on,” but then absurdly claims that lawsuits seeking access to her emails – something protected under Freedom of Information Act laws – are the result of a some sort of partisan witch hunt.
