Panicked Democrats are Desperate to Ditch Biden

Democrats in competitive races are desperately attempting to distance themselves from Joe Biden and his deeply unpopular agenda. Biden’s approval rating remains near all-time lows, hovering around 40 percent, and he is underwater in 40 states. Democrats worry that could cost them seats in the House and Senate.

Politico: Acutely aware of the need to get distance from the president, the four most endangered Democratic incumbents — Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock, Nevada Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto and New Hampshire Sen. Maggie Hassan — are increasingly taking steps to highlight their independence from the president and underscore their differences. . .

Republicans remain confident that Biden will prove too much of a drag for vulnerable Democratic incumbents — or challengers — to overcome.

Democrats running for governorships have also criticized Biden, nailing him for making a “rash decision. . . without a clear plan” to manage the border crisis. In statements and on social media, vulnerable Democrats will occasionally criticize the administration to create political cover. However, the reality is that Democrats are united behind Biden when it matters most.

Incumbent Democrats running in tight senate races have voted with the president more than 95 percent of the time. Val Demings, Tim Ryan and Conor Lamb — members of the House running for Senate — have not taken a single vote against Biden’s position. Republicans are taking action to remind voters that these candidates are in lockstep with the Biden-Harris administration.

Bottom Line: Voters overwhelmingly believe the country is on the wrong track, and this November’s elections will be a referendum on Democrats’ failed record.
