Pennsylvania Dems Embrace Single Payer Health Care

In their first candidate forum, held at Carnegie Mellon University on Sunday, Pennsylvania Democratic senate candidates Katie McGinty, Joe Sestak, and John Fetterman spent much of the event in a race to the left on everything from who is pushing the most far-left environmental agenda to who has the most extreme view on health care, with all three candidates embracing a socialist-style single payer health care plan.

While unsurprising coming from Bernie Sanders backer Fetterman, the pro-single payer pile-on could prove awkward for Katie McGinty, who has endorsed Hillary Clinton in the presidential race. Clinton has blasted Sanders’ single payer plan, saying it will “never, ever happen.”
