Police Unions Denounce Elizabeth Warren’s ‘Reckless’ Anti-Police Rhetoric

Elizabeth Warren’s repeated attacks on law enforcement are putting the lives of police officers in danger, according to The Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association.

On Friday, Warren sent a tweet stating black teen Michael Brown was “murdered by a white police officer,” and went on to say “We must confront systemic racism and police violence head on.”

Her latest attack on police prompted Massachusetts police chiefs to write a letter to Warren, in which they called her rhetoric “appalling” and “another slap in the face” that endangers cops.

Yarmouth Police Chief Frank G. Frederickson: “This is about one issue: I don’t want to see another officer unnecessarily murdered. It’s that simple. This hurts, and every chief feels the same way.”

A police officer under Yarmouth police Chief Frank Frederickson’s command was killed last year, and another officer was killed in nearby Weymouth just three months later. That prompted Frederickson to challenge Warren to spend time in a police department and understand what actually takes place.

The police union’s letter to Warren also noted that the DOJ ruled Michael Brown “was not murdered,” meaning Warren’s tweet was based on false information.

The Washington Post also previously fact-checked Warren’s claim, and gave her “Four Pinnochios” for completely ignoring the DOJ’s conclusion.

The letter goes on to state “Having had two Police Officers murdered in your own state, in the past 18 months, we expect our elected Officials to condemn the murder and assaults of Police Officers. Instead on multiple occasions, you choose to fan the fires of divide for you own political gains. Shame on you!”

In August, 2018, Warren told a group of students “the hard truth about our criminal justice system: It’s racist … I mean front to back.” Her comments were denounced by local police unions and a few days later, a constituent told Warren her comments were a “slap in the face” to the legal community.

Elizabeth Warren has proven she’s willing to say anything to score cheap political points with her rabidly liberal base – even if it means putting the lives of police officers in danger.
