Polls: Americans Struggle With Inflation, Say Biden ‘Incompetent’

Americans say higher prices and falling real wages are taking a toll on their financial situations, according to two new polls. NPR found that three out of four people are cutting back on spending to make ends meet, and data from Fox News shows that almost 80 percent of Americans say inflation has “caused financial hardship” over the past six months.

Joe Biden’s approval rating on the economy and inflation remains deep underwater, and most voters who list economic issues as their number one concern plan to vote Republican in November.

NPR: Nearly three out of four people surveyed say they’ve cut back on spending in the last six months in response to economic conditions. More than a quarter say they’d had to rely on savings in order to make ends meet. . .

More than half the people surveyed say they’re eating out less now than they were six months ago. Four in ten say they’re driving less or carpooling in order to save on gas. . .

Just over a third of those surveyed say they canceled or scaled back vacations over the last six months, while 18% say they skipped a doctor’s visit or a purchase of prescription drugs. In general, families making less than $50,000 a year were more likely to say they’d cut spending than those with higher incomes.

Fox News found that 43 percent of registered voters approve of BIden’s job performance, up just three points from his all-time low. Only 30 percent of independent voters say they approve of the president and a majority of Americans now describe the Biden-Harris administration as “incompetent”.

Bottom Line: Americans are struggling in Democrats’ broken economy. Rising inflation and falling real wages will cost them votes in November.
