Ripped From The Headlines: Kaine Pick Met With “Blowback,” “Anger,” And An “Opening For Republicans”

Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) has been Hillary Clinton’s running mate for less than a day, yet the negative headlines are already piling up. Democrats hoping for Senator Elizabeth Warren or Secretary Tom Perez instead ended up with Kaine:

For such a “boring” politician, Senator Kaine brings a significant amount of baggage to a ticket already inundated with countless Clinton scandals. From Kaine’s habit as Virginia governor of accepting hundreds of thousands in gifts, to Wall Street’s “relief” at his selection, and his support for issues progressives hate, Kaine presents many problems for Clinton’s campaign. In less than 24 hours, Kaine has flip-flopped on trade. Just Thursday, Kaine praised the Trans-Pacific Partnership, yet after Kaine’s announcement a Clinton aide leaked that Kaine now opposes the trade deal:

“In addition, a Clinton aide told The Huffington Post that Kaine had told the former secretary of state that he would oppose President Barack Obama’s signature trade deal, the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement, in its current form.”

Just one day on the ticket, and Kaine is already picking up Clinton’s say or do anything habits! For more of the awful coverage Kaine faced on his first day see below:
