Scandal-Plagued De Blasio Endorses Keith Ellison
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio (D-NY) is known for a lot of things in New York City. He loves helicopters, hates groundhogs, and is running the most corrupt administration New Yorkers have seen since Tammany Hall. According to the New York Daily News de Blasio’s administration has devolved into one large pay-to-play scheme:
“Collectively, the findings point to a concerted City Hall effort to target those doing business with the city for checks far in excess of routine campaign donations. Investigators looking at de Blasio’s fund-raising tactics have found evidence that donors expected something from City Hall in return for their generosity.”
Given all the negative attention de Blasio has attracted recently, it comes as a bit of a shock that he’d want to get involved in the DNC race. Yet that’s exactly what de Blasio is doing by endorsing Congressman Keith Ellison (D-MN) this morning:
“‘The Democratic Party stands at a crossroads, and needs leadership that will expand our vision to more Americans — while also intensifying our commitment to our core values. Keith Ellison is that leader,’ de Blasio said in a statement provided to NBC News.”
In a way, de Blasio’s endorsement makes complete sense. Both politicians are extremely out of touch liberals who have zero appeal in the areas of the country Hillary Clinton underperformed in. Yet given the five ethics investigations looking into de Blasio’s misconduct, perhaps a little more caution on Ellison’s part was warranted.
