Sherrod Brown Has Been Running For Office Longer Than Most Sanders Voters Have Been Alive
Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) is a career politician. When Brown first ran for public office Hank Aaron was still playing baseball, the “–gate” rocking the political world was actually Watergate, and the last Japanese solider fighting World War II finally surrendered. The year was 1974. Brown’s speech is a perfect reminder that 42 years later, he’s a career politician who is still at it.
Like Clinton, Brown also has an affinity for extreme language. During a 2015 debate, Clinton said that Republicans were her “enemy.” In 2011, Brown took to the Senate floor and compared Republicans who oppose certain union privileges to Hitler and Stalin.
