Taddeo Attacks Fellow Florida Democrats On Syrian Refugee Vote
In a speech at the Democrats of South Dade Club meeting, Congressional hopeful Annette Taddeo (FL-26) tried attacking her opponent over his vote to create new screening requirements for Syrian refugees coming to the United States. Instead she criticized her fellow Democrats, which included Reps. Gwen Graham (FL-02) and Patrick Murphy (FL-18), for voting the same way, telling them, “That’s not what America is made of. We are better than that.”
Murphy is running for the U.S. Senate and is facing a primary challenge from the more liberal Rep. Alan Grayson (FL-09). When Murphy took the vote in November, Grayson’s campaign manager said, “Patrick Murphy showed today that he is too overcome with fear to think straight.”
This news makes a bad week worse for Murphy after a Florida Atlantic University poll showed him losing to Grayson by 7 points in the Democratic Senate primary.
