The Clintons Are Worth $55M & Hillary Just Said She Would Spend The Powerball On Herself
Clinton is considered the wealthiest living president and among the top-10 all-time wealthiest, with the Clintons’ combined net worth at about $55 million, according to the website 24/7 Wall Street, which started evaluating the net worth of presidents in 2010.
That is more money than most Americans can imagine, but not enough for Hillary Clinton: this morning on Good Morning America, Clinton Foundation donor George Stephanopoulos asked Clinton if she bought a Powerball ticket:
Sorry, charities! You’re not getting a penny of the $1.5 billion prize if Clinton wins tonight’s drawing. “I’ll fund my campaign” might be the most honest answer Clinton has given since she announced her candidacy last year.
As a quick refresher:
The Clintons received more than $25 million for paid speeches alone in 2014 and 2015.
The Clintons own two multi-million dollar mansions.
Clinton made $5 million from book royalties in 2014.
The Clintons routinely rent a beach house in the summer, paying $100,000 for a few weeks use last year.
The Clintons now rank comfortably among the top one-tenth of the top 1 percent of earners.
But when it comes to sharing that money from the Powerball, it’s staying in the Clintons’ pockets. As Bill Clinton put it last year, “I gotta pay our bills.”
