Governor John Bel Edwards (D-LA) wants voters to believe he’s a moderate Democrat. Yet as his actions over the past week have shown, he’s nothing but a partisan Democrat. Ever since Edwards took a “beating” in front of Congress, he’s been lashing out at Republicans, and acting like the Democrat he is.

First, Edwards’ poor record responding to last years’ flood caused him problems in front of Congress. Yet instead of apologizing for that poor record, Edwards’ administration attacked Congressman Garret Graves (R-LA).

Edwards followed that up with more shots at Republicans in state legislature, this time during his State of the State address. It’s ironic that at the same time Edwards called on Louisianans to “rise above partisan differences” in his speech, he was condemning Republicans.

Finally, Edwards is still playing politics with the funding of Attorney General Jeff Landry’s office. Things have gotten so bad that Attorney General Landry was forced to sue Edwards for withholding the money.

These actions show that no matter how hard Edwards might try and fool people, he’ll always be a partisan Democrat at heart.
