VIDEO: Clinton Under Fire For Lucrative Paid Speeches
With her paid speeches to Wall Street still unresolved, Hillary Clinton finds herself embroiled in another controversy that has become a flashpoint in the Democratic primary. Yesterday, Clinton joined striking Verizon workers on the picket line, yet on MSNBC Andrea Mitchell repeatedly questioned her campaign manager Robby Mook on the hypocrisy of Clinton taking $225,000 from Verizon, while claiming to be a friend to Verizon’s workers.
That $225,000 check is hardly Clinton’s only connection to Verizon. Verizon also donated between $100,000 and $250,000 to the Clinton Foundation. Additionally, Verizon executives and lobbyists have donated tens of thousands to her 2016 presidential campaign.
Yet when Andrea Mitchell questioned Robby Mook four times about the hypocrisy of Clinton using Verizon picketers as a political photo-op while taking Verizon’s cash, he had no answer. In fact, all Mook could do was repeat the same talking points over and over again, while personally attacking Senator Bernie Sanders.
If Clinton performs as badly as her campaign manager tonight, she could be in for a long night next Tuesday.
