Warren Criticizes Clinton For Bringing DWS Onto Her Campaign After DNC Debacle
Despite the Clinton camp’s best effort to silence her critics and force “unity” around her fatally flawed candidacy, Hillary Clinton’s unfavorability rating is still soaring after the Democratic National Convention. Clinton’s seeming inability to avoid impropriety on multiple fronts has fueled speculation about her character and confirmed her contempt for the newly energized Democratic base. The latest dust-up? Hiring disgraced DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz the same day a batch of emails confirmed she had it in for Bernie Sanders from the beginning.
Elizabeth Warren – A former Clinton critic turned supporter (betraying her own backers) — directly criticized Clinton’s obvious coordination with Wasserman-Schultz. Warren’s critique appeared in a teaser released by WCVB-TV in Boston for their Sunday morning show:
Clinton gave Debbie Wasserman Schultz a top position in her campaign immediately after Schultz resigned from the Democratic National Committee. Embarrassing emails from Schultz had revealed attempts to sabotage Sen. Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign.
“What happened at the Democratic National Convention should not have happened,” Warren said. “It is an embarrassment to the party and it is an embarrassment to the nation.”
“Is it an embarrassment for (Clinton) to hire Schultz so quickly after she is dismissed from the DNC?” NewsCenter 5’s Janet Wu asked Warren.
“I did not understand that,” she replied.
Warren’s criticism comes at a crucial point for Clinton’s campaign – the candidate may be facing two new investigations into the Clinton Foundation from the FBI and IRS alleging that her family’s well-known slush fund accepted foreign cash in return for favors while Clinton served in the State Department.
Surrogates jumping ship is the last thing Clinton needs before her campaign takes on more water.
