With Her Campaign In Free Fall, Hillary Clinton’s Aides And Allies Struggle With Damage Control
Following Hillary Clinton’s disastrous Nevada press conference yesterday, campaign Communications Director Jennifer Palmieri, and long-time Clinton ally James Carville, took to the airwaves today in an attempt to defend Clinton.
When MSNBC’s Luke Russert asked Palmieri how the campaign was ”prepared to deal with this email issue the next six to 15 months?”
Palmieri dodged, “I think when you get to the point where you’re answering questions about wiping servers, that you’re nearing the end of legitimate questions for her to answer.”
In another interview with Bloomberg’s John Heilemann, Palmieri claimed, “She’s [Hillary Clinton] answered this many times and she did have her own e-mail account. Others had done it before and it was just more convenient and she kept it like that, and she didn’t really—that’s the thing, she didn’t really think it through.”
James Carville however acted like a wounded animal lashing out at everyone from the media to Jeff Bezos, who he accused of running a “sweat shop.”
It would seem that despite their claims, things in Brooklyn aren’t going according to plan and Clinton’s staff and supporters are starting to get worried.
