The Democratic Party’s new slogan, “A Better Deal: Better Jobs, Better Wages, Better Future” has been mocked relentlessly since it leaked last Friday. After yesterday’s official unveiling, featuring House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senator Minority Leader Chuck Schumer delivering a bunch of re-heated Hillary Clinton policy proposals, the mocking increased exponentially:

“Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., are copying ideas from Hillary Clinton’s failed presidential campaign with the Democratic Party’s ‘A Better Deal’ theme, according to the conservative PAC America Rising. Schumer and Pelosi discussed ‘A Better Deal’ in opinion pieces in The New York Times and The Washington Post, but in those pieces, they echoed Clinton proposals, said Scott Sloofman, America Rising PAC press secretary in a blog post Monday.”

Giving how lukewarm the reception to “A Better Deal” has been, it’s no surprise that America Rising PAC’s Nancy Pelosi graphic, which mocked the Democrats’ new slogan, quickly stole the show:

Politico was also quick to note that it was the America Rising PAC’s graphic being used to “lampoon” the fact that Democrats are still relying on the historically unpopular Pelosi as their leader:

“Protesters on the sidelines in Berryville silently hoisted Papa John’s boxes with an image, created by the conservative opposition group America Rising, that lampooned House Democrats for reelecting Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).”

CNN was another outlet that highlighted the role of America Rising PAC’s Pelosi graphic at yesterday’s event:

“And the full title of the new Democratic platform — ‘A Better Deal: Better Jobs, Better Wages, Better Future’ — evoked the Papa John’s pizza slogan: “Better Ingredients, Better Pizza.’ The Republican super PAC America Rising sent people with pizza boxes that mocked both the Democratic agenda and Pelosi’s continued role to the event.”

The Daily Caller noted that both that Democrats’ slogan and ideas were both “ripped off” from other sources, something America Rising PAC pointed out to great effect:

“Meanwhile, Republicans poked fun at the Democrats’ full title of the economic plan, ‘A Better Deal: Better Jobs, Better Wages, Better Future,’ and said it was ripped off from Papa John’s Pizza marketing campaign: ‘Better Ingredients, Better Pizza.’ The Republican super PAC America Rising sent out pizza boxes taking further jabs at the name.”

Given the unoriginality of Pelosi and Schumer’s ideas and slogan, it’s pretty clear that the only fresh item brought to yesterday’s event was the Papa Johns’ pizza wielded by GOP protesters.
