Biden’s Attacks on Energy Producers Left America Vulnerable to Price Hikes

Prices for energy, including gasoline, electricity, and natural gas are skyrocketing. The average price for a gallon of gasoline is $3.64 — a dollar more than February 2021 and up 10 cents in two weeks —  electricity is up 11 percent from one year ago and the price for natural gas has risen 24 percent.

The Philadelphia Inquirer: Across the Philadelphia area, thousands of utility customers opened their bills in recent weeks to learn that the cost of heating their homes had soared much more than the 7% inflation rate. Social media platforms lit up with posts from unhappy customers, directing their wrath at energy companies, regulators, and politicians.

“I have never paid this much for heat in the winter,” wrote a Philadelphia resident posting on Nextdoor.com, where several threads contained hundreds of comments venting about the price increase. . .

The high gas bills could get worse. With tensions soaring over the Russian invasion of Ukraine, global energy markets are bracing for what could become a crippling supply-chain disruption if the conflict affects pipelines that carry Russian natural gas upon which Europe depends.

Experts warn that the Russian invasion of Ukraine could send prices even higher and might create a crisis in Europe. Russia produces almost 10 percent of the world’s oil and could cut off energy supplies to America’s European allies.

Republicans slammed the Biden-Harris administration for their attacks on America’s energy industry that threaten our energy independence and force allies to rely on rivals such as Russia to meet their demands. Texas Republican Rep. Dan Crenshaw said the crisis called for American energy “dominance” and a strategic shift.

Oklahoma Republican Sen. James Lankford pressed the BIden-Harris administration to reverse course and unleash America’s energy producers, starting with approving the Keystone XL pipeline that Biden blocked in early 2021.

Bottom Line: The United States and our allies are vulnerable to massive price increases because of Joe Biden’s radical agenda. This is a threat to America’s economic prosperity and national security.
