Bill De Blasio Continues To Put His Political Ambitions Above NYC Residents
Mayor Bill De Blasio is showing a tremendous amount of disrespect to the people of Staten Island. According to the Staten Island Advance,de Blasio has “left the city more times within nine days than he’s gone to Staten Island all year.”
To add insult to injury, de Blasio is once again skipping the Staten Island St. Patrick’s Parade. Yet while de Blasio is spurning Staten Island, he’s had plenty of time for out of state political activities:
“Last weekend de Blasio traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, for the Democratic National Committee meeting to elect a new party chair. On Wednesday , he went to Washington, D.C., to attend the winter meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors on Thursday. After coming back to the city briefly on Thursday afternoon, de Blasio will then head to Chicago. On Friday he will address the City Club of Chicago. The mayor will go to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, next to deliver the keynote address at the Broward Democratic Party’s annual fundraising dinner on Saturday.”
De Blasio’s disrespect for Staten Island comes while the mayor is running for re-election. This clearly shows that de Blasio values his national political career more than he values the people of New York City.
