Cory Booker Flip Flops on Abolishing the Filibuster

In hopes of appealing to the progressive base of the Democratic party, Cory Booker has jumped on board with the latest liberal litmus test, abolishing the filibuster:

However, earlier this month he told NPR“that despite pressure from some on the left, he would not eliminate the Senate filibuster to pass a health care overhaul like Medicare-for-all.”

In January, Booker fully backed the Senate rule telling Politico “we should not be doing anything to mess with the strength of the filibuster. It’s one of the distinguishing factors of this body. And I think it is good to have the power of the filibuster.”

2020 Democratic presidential contenders are continuously racing to the left as they look to distinguish themselves in the packed primary field.
