Cincinnati Restaurant Owner Unsatisfied With Joe Biden’s Town Hall Performance After Biden Failed to Answer His Question on Worker Shortages

Joe Biden left one Cincinnati restaurant owner with more questions than answers following Thursday’s CNN town hall, according to a report from the The Enquirer.

John Lanni, the co-founder and owner of a Cincinnati restaurant group, asked Biden a question during last night’s event about the worker shortage many businesses — including his own — are facing.

“We employ hundreds of hard-working team members throughout the state of Ohio and across the country, and we’re looking to hire more every day as we try to restart our restaurant business,” Lanni said. “The entire industry, amongst other industries, continues to struggle to find employees. How do you and the Biden administration plan to incentivize those that haven’t returned to work yet? Hiring is our top priority right now.”

In response, Biden gave a meandering five-minute lecture about COVID relief funds and the importance of an arbitrary $15 minimum wage. The president also told Lanni, “I think your business and the tourist business is really going to be in a bind for a little while.”

Lanni later told The Enquirer Biden’s answer was disappointing, especially given the fact that 80 to 90 percent of his company’s workers already make more than $15 an hour.

The Enquirer: “‘I was hoping he would recognize it is every industry’s dilemma,’ Lanni told The Enquirer after the event. ‘We are in a labor crisis and we need to find a way to incentivize people to get back to work. I just heard restaurants are going to have a hard road going forward and that we need to pay our workers more,’ Lanni said. ‘That’s happening and it’s still not enough.’”

This wasn’t the only question Joe Biden missed the mark on. One CBS News reporter noted Biden dodged a question regarding misinformation about COVID vaccines.

An AP fact check also reported that the president’s guarantee that people who get vaccinated are completely protected from getting COVID was misleading.

AP: “President Joe Biden offered an absolute guarantee Wednesday that people who get their COVID-19 vaccines are completely protected from infection, sickness and death from the coronavirus. The reality is not that cut and dried.”

Additionally, the fact check noted that Biden’s claim about the number of jobs created in the first six months of his presidency was “inflated.”

AP: “Also Biden inflated the impact of his policies on U.S. jobs created in his first half-year in office, misleadingly stating his administration had done more than any other president. He neglects to mention he had population growth on his side in his comparison.”

Bottom line: Joe Biden’s town hall highlighted his lack of awareness and competence when it comes to getting Americans back to work. His incoherent and oftentimes misleading answers left many Americans confused and disheartened.
