Yesterday the House of Representatives voted to cut federal funds to sanctuary cities. The vote passed, yet one House Democrat’s vote is a quite noticeable flip-flop.

Three times during his time in Congress, Congressman Matt Cartwright (D-PA) voted against cutting funding for sanctuary cities. Once in 2016, and twice in 2015, Congressman Cartwright voted against bills that would have limited funding to sanctuary cities.

Yet yesterday, Cartwright flip-flopped on the issue, voting for a bill that would “cut off some federal grants from so-called sanctuary cities.” What’s changed since the last vote on sanctuary cities is that Hillary Clinton’s loss in Pennsylvania must have Cartwright concerned with his political future. Unfortunately for Cartwright, voters are quick to see through politically motivated voting. No one likes a flip-flopping politician.
