Democrat Congressman Josh Gottheimer Skips Town Hall, Refuses to Answer Constituent Questions

Josh Gottheimer spent a lot of time raising out of state money (79% of total) this quarter. One thing he hasn’t spent any time doing? Taking questions from constituents.

On Monday night, progressive groups in his New Jersey district organized a town hall for Gottheimer to attend during the Congressional recess. The event was the culmination of efforts that started in December.

Gottheimer did not show up to the town hall, which was sponsored by 13 organizations. However, the progressive groups did set up a table with his picture, a notepad, and a bottle of water.

One organizer of the event noted that those in attendance had worked hard to help Gottheimer’s reelection campaign, and was upset that Gottheimer appears frequently in the media but will not appear at all in a public forum with progressive constituents.

Josh Gottheimer is a target of national Republicans…and the FEC. Earlier this month, the FEC sent a letter to the Gottheimer campaign questioning a series of donations to the campaign.
