At the conclusion of a recent press event on gun control legislation, Democratic Rep. Lucy McBath (GA-06) urged activists to “stand up for a gun-free society.” McBath made curbing gun violence a central issue of her campaign last cycle.

Lucy McBath: So, thank you for being here today. I hope that you take this charge back to your communities and stand up for a gun-free society.”
McBath’s office argued that the congresswoman “misspoke,” but one of her Republican opponents, former Rep. Karen Handel, took McBath to task for “not being truthful about her support of the Second Amendment.”
