Democrat Sara Gideon Exposed for Lying About Susan Collins’ Record

Last week, Democrat Senate candidate Sara Gideon became embroiled in no less than three separate scandals. It was revealed that her husband was considering coronavirus lawsuits against veterans’ homes she refused to fund as Speaker, she was called out for dodging primary debates, and she had paid thousands of dollars to a liberal dark money group. Now she’s the subject of a Washington Post fact check after running an ad that deliberately misled voters about Senator Susan Collins.

The Washington Post: “Gideon’s ad takes several discrete elements — relatively minor campaign contributions to Collins, a bipartisan effort to allow franchises in hotel chains to obtain PPP money, and early numbers on PPP recipients in Maine — to sketch a misleading narrative.”

“Overall, this ad is highly misleading and worthy of Three Pinocchios.”

This isn’t the first time Gideon has been caught lying. After taking a pledge not to accept corporate PAC money, she received more than $100,000 from political committees. Many of them raked in corporate PAC contributions before doling it out to political candidates like Gideon.

She also promised to participate in primary debates in March, stating “I’m looking forward to having a debate. We’ll do it.” As noted by The Washington Free Beacon, Gideon has dodged multiple primary debates. Maine voters are even circulating a petition demanding for her to stop hiding.
