While millions of Americans have their lives upended by COVID-19, Democrat Senate candidates are more concerned with meeting their fundraising goals.

Over the past several weeks, Democratic Senate candidates in states like Colorado and Iowa have sent pleas to their supporters that invoke the coronavirus pandemic in a desperate attempt to raise money.

Townhall: “Greenfield is positioned to win the primary, but spent Wednesday night fundraising off of COVID-19, telling supporters that the global health pandemic ‘directly affects’ her fundraising.”

Not to be outdone, John Hickenlooper followed Greenfield’s lead with his own politicized solicitation. “So, I need to be honest with you: just as this pandemic has surely impacted you and your family, it has impacted our campaign, too.”

And when they aren’t exploiting the crisis to raise money, Democratic Senate candidates are attacking their Republican opponents for supporting a $2 trillion coronavirus relief bill. In North Carolina, Cal Cunningham chastised Senator Thom Tillis for supporting the legislation, despite the fact that it passed with unanimous support and provides vital aid to families and businesses.

Bottom line: President Trump and Senate Republicans are working tirelessly to contain COVID-19 and support the American people while Democrats continue to politicize this crisis.
