Elizabeth Warren’s Plans Contradict Her Own Record

Elizabeth Warren heavily relied on a multimillion-dollar infusion from her Senate political committee to kick off her presidential campaign. That’s coming back to haunt her as she announces a plan to ban lobbyists from making political contributions, just a few years after she happily accepted lobbyist contributions to her Senate campaigns:

CNBC: “This plan represents the latest phase of an apparent shift from Warren, who accepted at least $95,000 from federally registered lobbyists during her campaigns for the U.S. Senate, according to records reviewed by CNBC.”

Some of the lobbyists who bankrolled her previous campaigns are speaking out about Warren’s blatant hypocrisy, including former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell:

“Warren didn’t seem to have any trouble taking our money in 2018, but suddenly we were power brokers and influence peddlers in 2019,” Rendell wrote last week. “The year before, we were wonderful. I co-chaired one of the events for the senator and received a glowing, handwritten thank-you letter from her for my hard work.”

This also just happens to be the latest example of Warren being exposed for hypocrisy, including reports highlighting her legal work on behalf of corporations and flip-flopping on Wall Street regulations.

Seemingly every new proposal Elizabeth Warren comes up with turns out to be completely inconsistent with her own record.
