Here’s Democrats’ Plan to Take Over Elections

This week, congressional Democrats and the Biden-Harris administration will push to federalize the nation’s elections and overturn laws that protect the integrity of the ballot box. Their plan would effectively eliminate voter ID requirements, create universal mail-in voting, force states to count ballots that arrive after Election Day and universally award felons the right to vote.

To push through their partisan takeover, Democrats are preparing to abolish the filibuster.

The Hill: Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-Ky.) office knocked Democrats over “the left’s Big Lie” — which it pegged as the belief that “there is some evil anti-voting conspiracy sweeping America” — as Democrats look to push for federal voting rights legislation.

A memo from the minority leader’s office on Sunday predicts that Democrats will “try to use fake hysteria to break the Senate and silence millions of Americans’ voices so they can take over elections and ram through their radical agenda,” likely referring to calls by many Democrats to abolish the filibuster in the Senate to pass voting rights reforms.

Even New Hampshire’s outgoing Democratic Secretary of State, Bill Gardner, is warning against Joe Biden’s latest power grab. He slammed New Hampshire’s representatives in Washington, including vulnerable Democrat Maggie Hassan, for supporting the bill and suggested it would actually hurt turnout.

New Hampshire Journal: The “Freedom to Vote” Act, as Democrats call it, would strip authority from state election officers like Gardner, as well as the state legislatures, to set federally-mandated rules for local elections. Gardner has been an outspoken opponent of the legislation, as well as the earlier “For The People” Act, saying they undermine the state’s constitutional rights, will hurt voter turnout, and endanger New Hampshire’s vaunted “First in the Nation” (FITN) primary.

The federal legislation is supported by all four members of the state’s D.C. delegation. Gardner confirmed to NHJournal yet again that not one member of the delegation has ever contacted him to discuss the law’s potential impact on Granite State elections.

Bottom Line: Democrats are threatening to blow up the filibuster — silencing the voices of millions of Americans — to pass a federal takeover of elections that would jeopardize the integrity of America’s ballot boxes.
