House Democrats Change Stance on Handling Sexual Assault Allegations to Protect Joe Biden
Democrats have either contradicted their previous comments or remained completely silent.

When Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh faced uncorroborated sexual assault allegations, Democrats spent weeks demanding that his nomination should be revoked and federal investigations should take place.
But when it comes to a former Joe Biden staffer accusing him of physically groping her with multiple sources of corroboration, the same Democrats have either contradicted their previous comments or remained completely silent.
Here are a few of the most egregious examples:
Rep. Katie Porter on Kavanaugh: “By confirming Kavanaugh without a thorough FBI investigation tells survivors nationwide that you don’t matter. Your stories don’t make a difference. That is wrong. We must take *all* claims of sexual assault seriously regardless of party or political connections. Period.”
Rep. Porter on Biden: “The fact that it’s more than two decades old reflects potentially the challenges of speaking up about these kinds of situations. But it also is going to make it difficult to really get to the bottom of what happened.”
Rep. Tom Malinowski on Kavanaugh: “Dr. Blasey Ford’s request that the FBI investigate her claims, and key witnesses be interviewed, is reasonable and enhances her credibility. To plow ahead says to victims that coming forward will make no difference. The vote should be delayed.”
Rep. Malinowski on Biden: Malinowski has remained silent regarding the sexual assault allegation against Joe Biden and has not called for any type of investigation to be conducted.
Rep. Max Rose on Kavanaugh: “It’s extremely disappointing to see Dan Donovan is unwilling to show Dr. Blasey Ford the respect she deserves. It’s clear that he finds investigating serious allegations of sexual assault to be inconvenient, but his comments should come as no surprise considering his record.”
Rep. Rose on Biden: Rose has remained silent regarding the sexual assault allegation against Joe Biden and has not called for any type of investigation to be conducted.
Rep. Elaine Luria on Kavanaugh: “Victims of sexual assault should be protected and supported, not vilified. Dr. Christine Blasey Ford deserves our support and until we, as a country, stand by women, sexual assault will continue to be unacceptably prevalent in our society.”
Rep. Luria on Biden: Luria has remained silent regarding the sexual assault allegation against Joe Biden and has not called for any type of investigation to be conducted.
Rep. Sean Casten on Kavanaugh: “Angry. Speechless. There is truly no decency among those 11 men who sat there yesterday, listened to Dr. Ford’s testimony, listened to Kavanaugh’s Stan Gable schtick and decided he is qualified to be a Supreme Court justice without any further inquiry. Shame.”
Rep. Casten on Biden: Casten has remained silent regarding the sexual assault allegation against Joe Biden and has not called for any type of investigation to be conducted.
