House Democrats are failing to advance yet another major legislative priority for their party, protecting DREAMers. According to Politico, “the [DREAM Act] is stalled because of an intraparty fight over providing citizenship to undocumented immigrants with criminal records.”
This is a huge blow to dozens of House Democrats who made providing a pathway to citizenship for DREAMers central to their campaigns last cycle:
Lucy McBath (GA-06)
Haley Stevens (MI-11)
Jeff Van Drew (NJ-02)
Max Rose (NY-11)
Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07)
Elaine Luria (VA-02)
Harley Rouda (CA-48)
Ben McAdams (UT-04)
Abby Finkenauer (IA-03)
Xochitl Torres-Small (NM-02)
Antonio Delgado (NY-19)
Colin Allred (TX-32)
Elissa Slotkin (MI-08)
Sean Casten (IL-06)
Cindy Axne (IA-03)
Lauren Underwood (IL-14)
Sharice Davids (KS-03)
Chris Pappas (NH-01)
Andy Kim (NJ-03)
Anthony Brindisi (NY-22)
Kendra Horn (OK-05)
Abigail Spanberger (VA-07)
Angie Craig (MN-02)
As Speaker Pelosi fails to reign in the likes of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other far-left freshman, House Democrats continue their struggle to govern and uphold campaign promises they made to voters back home.
