Joe Biden’s Three Biggest Blunders in Europe

Joe Biden once again displayed his incompetence on the world stage after several of his comments sent the White House spiraling into cleanup mode last week and into the weekend. During his trip to Europe, Biden called for a regime change in Russia, suggested U.S. troops were going to Ukraine, and threatened to launch chemical weapons against Putin.

His staff had to publicly clarify each of these statements.

Blunder #1: Biden calls for a regime change in Russia

Biden: “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power.”

Secretary of State Antony Blinken: “‘As you know, and as you’ve heard us say repeatedly, we do not have a strategy of regime change in Russia or anywhere else, for that matter. In this case, as in any case, it’s up to the people of the country in question. It’s up to the Russian people,’ Blinken said.”

Blunder #2: Biden suggests U.S. troops are being sent to Ukraine

Biden to U.S. troops: “And you’re gonna see when you’re there – some of you have been there – you’re gonna see women, young people standing in front of a damn tank.”

White House: “When asked Friday about the possibility of U.S. troop involvement, the White House insisted its stance remains the same.

“‘The president has been clear we are not sending U.S. troops to Ukraine and there is no change in that position,’ a White House spokesperson told Fox News Friday.”

Blunder #3: Biden warns of a possible chemical weapons attack against Russia

Biden on NATO’s response if Russia were to use chemical weapons: “It would trigger a response in kind.”

National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan: “US national security adviser Jake Sullivan said Friday the United States has ‘no intention of using chemical weapons period, under any circumstance’ when asked about President Joe Biden’s comment Thursday that he would respond ‘in kind’ if Russia used chemical weapons in Ukraine.”

Bottom line: According to a new NBC News poll, 71 percent of Americans have “very little” confidence in Joe Biden’s ability to respond to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It’s no wonder considering Biden’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal and history of blunders overseas.
