Just call it a holi-year

Nobody knows how to turn a holiday into a holi-week like Congress. House Democrats will need every day they can get to stave off what is expected to be a rough Election Day for their party. It turns out, Nancy Pelosi will be giving them 24 MORE days at home than the last midterm cycle.

From the start of the congressional calendar through Election Day, the House will have been in session for voting:

  • 81 days in the 2022 congressional calendar.
  • 105 days in the 2018 congressional calendar.

That’s quite the substantial difference that leaves one to wonder: did House Democrats plan on legislating at all this year?

Following a disastrous year and a half of governing, Democrats have no choice but to spin the facts and shift blame for why their party, despite controlling the White House, the Senate and the House, got little done for the American people.

House Democrats have little to write home about, legislatively, so they are left desperately needing to pound the pavement to answer for Joe Biden’s sinking poll numbers and skyrocketing prices, energy costs out the wazoo, and a terrible political climate.
