Keystone XL Community Calls Out the Biden Administration on Their Pipeline Hypocrisy

Former Keystone XL Pipeline workers and surrounding community members have reached a breaking point when it comes to the hypocrisy coming from the Biden administration over pipelines, according to a report from the Washington Examiner.

Laurie Cox, a South Dakota business owner whose company took a big hit as a result of Joe Biden’s Keystone decision, said she couldn’t believe it when she heard Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm admit pipelines are “the best way” to transport fuel during a press briefing last week.

Washington Examiner: “‘It solidifies that this administration does not have a platform for anything except hate,’ she told the Washington Examiner.”

According to the Examiner, Cox went on to say that Granholm’s comment proved the Biden administration’s decision to revoke permits for the Keystone XL Pipeline was purely political and “just shows incompetence and the ego of whoever is pulling the puppet strings.”

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris also announced Tuesday they will be removing sanctions on Russian pipeline company Nord Stream 2 AG and its CEO. This move will clear the way for Russia to complete the Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline and directly contradicts Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s stance on the issue just months prior.

For many of those whose lives were turned upside down by Biden’s Keystone decision, the administration’s choice to remove barriers from a Russian pipeline after cancelling a major American one feels like a stab in the back.

Washington Examiner: “‘How do they lay their heads down at night knowing they’re supposed to be protecting these people and providing them with what they need to live?’ [Peter Bardeson, the business manager for the Laborers, Local 620 union in Sioux Falls] told the Washington Examiner. ‘Ole Joe sold us out.'”

Bottom line: The Biden administration’s disingenuous pipeline antics are a slap in the face to the thousands of workers who have been left behind by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ job-killing energy agenda. Biden and Harris had a chance to be tough on Russia and they surrendered to their far-left base.
