Kirsten Gillibrand Lies About Medicare for All, Claims it Wouldn’t Raise Taxes

In an interview on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Kirsten Gillibrand falsely claimed that Medicare for All wouldn’t raise taxes on the middle class. While Bernie Sanders – the author of the legislation which she cosponsored – has acknowledged that it would in fact raise taxes: 

Bernie Sanders: “But if you are a middle-class person, you will be paying less overall for health care and taxes than you are paying today. That’s what our pledge is. Yes, you’ll be paying more in taxes, but you’ll be paying less — zero — in private insurance.”
