Laid-off Keystone Pipeline Workers Are Still Being Left Behind By Biden

Former pipeline workers are still struggling to find jobs after being laid-off in January as a result of President Joe Biden’s decision to eliminate the Keystone XL Pipeline, according to a report from Fox News.

Many of them said they’re still unemployed and are at risk of losing their livelihoods at the hand of Joe Biden’s clean energy agenda.

“I lost probably 60 to 80 grand not being able to go on that job,” said one pipeline worker. “I mean that’s my livelihood. If I’m not off working I’m barely scraping by. I’ve got two kids I’m having to support. What am I supposed to do there?”

President Biden promised to deliver new green energy jobs that would replace the oil and gas jobs terminated under his administration, but pipeliners looking for work say those opportunities are non-existent.

“I’ve looked for them green jobs, and they’re not there,” another pipeline worker said. “And that’s the reason I started a trucking company is because there are no green jobs there.”

“The middle class is standing right here looking at him telling him ‘hey, we’re hurting and we need jobs,’” he continued. “And he hasn’t even came on the news and said one thing about it.”

Even if Joe Biden is able to deliver on his promise to create a surge of new energy jobs, his agenda faces another major hurdle. Studies show that clean energy workers make thousands of dollars less than oil and gas workers.

“Energy industry workers employed by solar and wind power companies earn significantly less than those who mine coal or drill for natural gas, according to data compiled by former Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz’s clean energy think tank. For example, the median wage for solar workers is $24.48 an hour compared with $30.33 for those employed by the natural gas sector, which amounts to a roughly $12,000 annual wage gap.” – Politico

Bottom line: Joe Biden may claim that he’s for the working class, but his job-killing energy agenda proves otherwise.
