August 14, 2015The Republican opposition research super PAC America Rising is attacking the exorbitant price tag of Hillary Clinton’s policy proposals this weekend.
A slew of memos, infographics and tweets will begin circulating in Iowa as Clinton hits the State Fair in Des Moines. The GOP effort comes on the heels of her $350 billion “New College Compact” proposal on Monday. According to America Rising, Clinton’s proposed new spending totals nearly $600 billion.
Clinton will participate in the Iowa “wing ding” tonight along with Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley. But she is one of the few candidates in either party to refrain from speaking on the Des Moines Register “Soap Box.” Instead she will go booth to booth chatting with Iowans, where she will be encouraged to sample state fair delicacies such as fried Coca Cola, mac ‘n’ cheese balls and pie on a stick. It should be noted that Clinton is on a strict diet for the duration of the campaign.
