Ahead of Joe Biden’s Visit, Former Ohio State Treasurer Warns How Biden’s ‘Jobs’ Plan Will Leave the Buckeye State Behind

Joe Biden is set to visit Cleveland, Ohio, on Thursday to tout his economic policies, but one former state official is sounding the alarm over the Biden administration’s devastating “jobs” plan.

Former Ohio State Treasurer Ken Blackwell penned an op-ed in RealClearPolicy detailing the negative impacts of Biden’s “American Jobs Plan,” particularly for heavy manufacturing states like Ohio.

Blackwell explains how high tax burdens are already suffocating top manufacturing states like Ohio, Michigan, and California. He goes on to break down how Joe Biden’s proposed tax hikes within the “American Jobs Plan” will hurt middle-class Americans and ship manufacturing jobs overseas.

RealClearPolicy: “Biden’s plan will result in workers losing benefits, hours and raises. According to the National Association of Manufacturers, these Democrat policies will cause the loss of one million jobs in the first two years.”

RealClearPolicy: The success of our domestic economy is tied to our businesses’ ability to compete globally. When an American company loses jobs overseas, we also lose them at home. One policy that has kept our companies competitive in recent years is the Global Intangible Low Tax Income (GILTI) levied on US multinationals on important off-shore assets like trademarks and patents. Democrats want to raise this tax to 21 percent from roughly 12 percent.”

Biden’s tax plans come in light of a disappointing April jobs report, with 8 million fewer American jobs than before the pandemic, and a resounding inflation risk.

CNN: “It’s time to sound the inflation alarm inside the White House.

“From used cars and gasoline to lumber and food, prices are surging. The return of inflation, after a decades-long absence, is squeezing families and businesses recovering from the pandemic.”

With an already-suffering economy, Blackwell warns Joe Biden’s disastrous “jobs” plan will only hurt hard-working Americans even more.

RealClearPolicy: “People in manufacturing states like Ohio, California and Michigan may be the first to suffer, but won’t be the last. Soon the negative financial impacts of these policies would be felt at every dinner table across America.”
