In Response to Anemic Fundraising, Joe Biden’s Allies Hit the Panic Button

Joe Biden’s top allies are contemplating taking matters into their own hands in response to his anemic fundraising operation, which was recently described by former DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe as “better suited for a city council race than a presidential election.”

Mounting anxiety over Biden’s failure to adequately fund his campaign is prompting his supporters to push for the creation of an outside organization to compensate.

CNN: “The idea of building an outside organization has been the subject of discussion for weeks by Biden allies, but the conversations intensified in the wake of a cash crunch for the former vice president’s campaign. He reported last week having less than $9 million in the bank, significantly less than his leading rivals.”

Despite strong polling, even Biden’s lower-tier rivals are outpacing him financially. Pete Buttigieg, Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders all have more cash on hand than the former vice president.

Beyond the fundraising concerns, Biden is also constantly forced to address the widening scandals in which his family members are embroiled. Hunter Biden, for example, recently resigned from the board of a Chinese-backed private equity firm and faces mounting questions about receiving $50,000 per month from a Ukranian energy company.

If Joe Biden fails to turn around his fundraising performance or properly address the litany of Biden family scandals, his campaign could be over before anyone expected.
