Leaked White House Document Proves Biden Failed in Afghanistan

Leaked documents, acquired by Axios, reveal the extent of the Biden-Harris administration’s incompetence managing the Afghanistan withdrawal. As the Taliban seized control of Kabul, Joe Biden’s bureaucrats were still working out “basic” details and actions.

Axios: Leaked notes from a White House Situation Room meeting the day before Kabul fell shed new light on just how unprepared the Biden administration was to evacuate Afghan nationals who’d helped the United States in its 20-year war against the Taliban.

Why it matters: Hours before the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan’s capital on Aug. 15, 2021, senior Biden administration officials were still discussing and assigning basic actions involved in a mass civilian evacuation.

The documents, dated August 14, 2021, show that behind the scenes chaos was consuming the Biden-Harris administration. The day before Kabul fell to the Taliban, the administration still had not secured transit points for U.S. citizens and other evacuees. Other logistical issues, like registering embassy staff’s interest in relocation, had not even begun.

Fox News: The Biden administration’s handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan faced new scrutiny on Tuesday after a news outlet said it obtained leaked notes from the White House Situation Room that showed “just how unprepared” it was to evacuate Afghan nationals who assisted Americans during the conflict. . .

The question is how Afghanistan could be hours from being overthrown and these issues evidently not nailed down. The White House and State Department did not immediately respond to after-hours emails from Fox News.

Republicans slammed Joe Biden and his administration for the chaotic withdrawal that resulted in the deaths of 13 service members and stranded American citizens and allies — some of whom are still trapped behind enemy lines in a “bureaucratic hell”.

Rep. Mike Waltz, a veteran of the Afghanistan War, tweeted, “We were stonewalled and ignored while they dithered. Infuriating. ZERO accountability.” Senator Marsha Blackburn said, “Joe Biden did not just fail at withdrawing from Afghanistan— he did not have a plan and lied to the American people about it.”

Bottom Line: As the Taliban stormed Kabul, the Biden-Harris administration still didn’t have a plan to evacuate American citizens and our allies.
