Resurfaced Videos Reveal John Fetterman’s Radical Past

John Fetterman toned down some of his most radical rhetoric as he pivoted from a “true progressive” to “just a Democrat.” Previous remarks, though, reveal Fetterman’s unfiltered thoughts on progressive policy and how he would ally with figures such as Bernie Sanders to push the Democratic Party even further to the left. In the statements, Fetterman reveals he agrees with Sanders on “virtually every issue” and admitted that he was too progressive even for Democrats just a few years ago.

In office, Fetterman’s progressive ideology guides his policy decisions. As chair of Pennsylvania’s Board of Pardon’s, he pushed soft-on-crime policies and voted to commute the life sentences of at least 13 convicted murderers. Fetterman also opposed fracking — a process that supports jobs in Pennsylvania and produces cleaner, American energy. His close allies,  Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, proposed a nationwide ban on fracking.

Bottom Line: John Fetterman is one of the most radical Democrats running for federal office.
