Democratic Rep. Tom Malinowski received more than $2,000 in donations from 57-year-old Emadeddin Muntasser, who promoted Osama Bin Laden and was convicted for funding violent jihadists, according to a report from the New York Post.

New York Post: “Emadeddin Muntasser, 57, and two of his associates were convicted in January 2008 on counts of conspiring to defraud the United States government, lying to the FBI and engaging in a scheme to conceal evidence. The charges stemmed from their operation of an Islamic charity that acted as a front to finance Islamic jihad abroad and lying about the organization in order to obtain tax-exemption status.”

New York Post: “New Jersey Rep. Tom Malinowski — one of the most endangered members of the House heading into the midterms — has taken $2,250 from Muntasser since 2018.”

This is not the first time Malinowski has found himself at the center of financial controversy. Malinowski faced multiple ethics complaints for failing to properly disclose stock trades and used the pandemic to make a profit while many Americans were suffering.

Bottom line: Tom Malinowski will do whatever he can to stay in power, even if that means crossing moral and ethical lines. His latest attempt to do damage control doesn’t undo the fact that he’s been accepting donations from a convicted terrorist financier since 2018.
