Polls: Voters Turn to Republicans on Key Issues

Weeks away from the midterm elections, voters say the country is on the wrong track and that they trust Republicans on the issues that matter most. Polls show voters do not trust Democrats to fix the multiple disasters they created, including the border crisis, the broken economy, and the surge in violent crime.

The Hill: Inflation, crime and immigration are entrenched as voters’ top concerns heading into next month’s midterm elections, according to a new Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey released exclusively to The Hill on Monday… The same poll also found that more voters said inflation, crime and immigration are more likely to persuade them to vote for Republicans.

Other polls, including from Fox News and Politico/Morning Consult, confirm movement toward Republicans as Election Day approaches and Democrats campaign on issues voters are not focused on.

Politico: We have fresh data this morning from the new POLITICO-Morning Consult poll that shows the national political landscape shifting more firmly toward the Republican Party.

Twenty days out from Election Day, voters are overwhelmingly focused on the economy and inflation, Republicans are more trusted to handle those issues, and crime beats out abortion as a second-tier issue. In our poll, as in others, the GOP has also gained on the congressional ballot test.

Additionally, Joe Biden’s approval rating remains deep underwater and a majority of voters say their financial situation is worse than when Democrats took office two years ago.

Bottom Line: Republicans are winning on the issues that matter most to Americans.
