As Crises Mount, Joe Biden’s Approval Rating Tumbles

Joe Biden’s strategic disaster in Afghanistan, the crisis at the southern border and a surge in violent crime have taken a toll on the president’s approval rating. Biden’s broken promise of a stable, competent administration is likely driving Americans’ dissatisfaction with his administration.

Axios: “The big picture: Biden has a 49.8% approval rating in the FiveThirtyEight average and 49.4% approval rating in the RCP average. This marks a precipitous decline from the FiveThirtyEight peak of 55.1% in March and the RCP peak of 55.7% in April.”

Recent polls show Biden’s approval rating significantly underwater, especially with voters who feel strongly.

Rasmussen: The latest figures include 26% who Strongly Approve of the job Biden is doing and 45% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -19.

Biden’s Afghanistan speech on Monday drew bipartisan criticism. A pollster who tracked voter’s reactions in real time found that Republicans and Independents gave the president a failing grade, and even Democrats were unhappy with the speech.

Fox News: Biden claimed in his speech that “the buck stops with me” and said he wouldn’t shy away from responsibility. While the majority of Democrats liked this statement, independent voters gave him an “F” grade. . . Biden’s explanation of the war in Afghanistan and reminder of his commitment to end U.S. involvement, however, received a “C” grade from Democrats. Carter said the low grade from Democrats and an “F” grade from both Republicans and Independents are again because the troop withdrawal was not conducted in the “right way.”

Bottom Line: Voters are watching — and reacting to — an incompetent administration mismanaging crises at home and abroad. Now, Democrats are desperate to distance themselves from the administration, rightfully fearing they will face backlash from voters who feel betrayed.
