Here’s How Republicans Are Taking Action to Fix the Border Crisis

Joe Biden’s mismanagement of the border is a result of his incompetence and failed immigration policies. Thousands of illegal immigrants remain camped out in Del Rio, Texas and border patrol has reported more than 200,000 arrests for two consecutive months.

Republicans, though, are taking action to end the crisis and protect the southern border.

Fox News: More than two dozen Republican governors are demanding a meeting with President Biden to address securing America’s borders, saying the illegal immigration surge under the current administration has created an “international humanitarian crisis.”

The governors said border apprehensions are up almost 500% compared to last year, and that approximately 9,700 illegal apprehensions have prior criminal convictions. They said more fentanyl has been seized this fiscal year than the last three years combined and that cartels and human traffickers are making millions by smuggling people and drugs across the border.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott took decisive action, lining up Texas National Guard and Department of Public Safety vehicles for miles to act as a “steel barrier” along the southern border.

CNN: Abbott blamed President Joe Biden’s administration for the current situation in Del Rio, saying the federal government is not doing enough to secure the country’s southern border. That, Abbott argued, has led to thousands of migrants camped under the Del Rio International Bridge waiting to get processed by US immigration authorities.

“When you have an administration that is not enforcing the law in this country, when you have an administration that has abandoned any pretense of securing the border and securing our sovereignty, you see the onrush of people like what we saw walking across this dam that is right behind me,” Abbott said at a news conference in Val Verde County.

Bottom Line: The Biden-Harris administration’s open border policies and failure to secure the southern border created this crisis. Now, Republicans and local officials are forced to manage security, health and humanitarian disasters with little to no support from Joe Biden or Kamala Harris.
